Why You're Always Tired and What to Do About It

Let’s be honest: many of us are exhausted, not just physically, but emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. We’re constantly told to do more, be more, and give more, leaving our nervous systems in a state of overdrive. But here’s the truth: healing doesn’t come from hustling harder. It comes from slowing down and returning to yourself.

As a mom, my mental to-do list never ends. I'm juggling the household, the kids, their activities, social events, grocery lists, what we need for the house, clothes—it’s a lot. As well as my career and side projects. The mental clutter builds up, and some days it feels like too much. I used to have an incredible memory, but lately, I’ve noticed it slipping. I know it’s likely from the constant overload of information—not just from daily responsibilities, but also from the nonstop input we get from our phones, texts, and endless scrolling on social media. It’s no wonder our minds feel foggy. I know I’m not alone, I was talking to my friends the other day and we all expressed how we get overstimulated so easily now and always so exhausted.

Overwhelm isn’t a time management issue. It’s a signal. It’s your body and mind telling you something is out of alignment. The world needs your light, but not at the cost of your spark.

You’re Not “Too Angry”—You’re Carrying Too Much

Many men grow up hearing the same messages on repeat: tough it out. Don’t cry. Man up. After a while, those words do more than shape behavior. They shape how men understand their own emotions and whether they feel allowed to express them at all.

When feelings finally surface, they often show up as one thing: anger.

It is important to remember that anger is usually a secondary emotion. There is almost always something underneath it. No emotion is inherently good or bad. Anger itself is not the problem. The real issue is bottling everything up and only letting emotions leak out through rage, irritability, or silence.

Clarity Over Pressure: Five Intentional Ways to Begin the Year

Happy New Year, friends! As a new year begins, we’re often asked about resolutions and hear the familiar “new year, new me” narrative. For some, that framing is needed. For others, it feels overwhelming. The truth is, every day offers a chance to begin again. Our souls don’t track time the way calendars do. So instead of asking, What should I accomplish? A more nourishing question is, What does my spirit need right now?

Often, the answer is surprisingly simple: rest, gentleness, honesty, or reconnection. January, in its quiet way, supports all of these. Here are five tips to help you move into the new year with clarity and compassion rather than pressure.

Four Powerful Mental Health Lessons from Pole to Pole with Will Smith

Recently, our family has been enjoying the National Geographic series Pole to Pole with Will Smith. It’s such a great family show and even my kids love it. While it unfolds as a breathtaking journey across all seven continents, what surprised me most is how much deeper the show goes. As Will Smith ventures to the literal edges of the world, the series also explores the edges of the human mind, with a modern lens on mental health. Pole to Pole highlights the transformative power of vulnerability, leaning into discomfort, and the importance of human connection.

Here are 4 key takeaways from the show:

Starting the New Year with Shadow Work: A Journey to Self-Awareness

Happy New Year, my friends! As the new year unfolds, many of us look for ways to grow and improve. While traditional resolutions often focus on surface-level changes, true transformation comes from deep introspection and the courage to face parts of ourselves we typically avoid. This profound process is known as shadow work—a practice rooted in psychology and spirituality that invites us to explore and integrate our "shadow self."

About five months ago, I began my shadow work journey with the guidance of a spiritual coach. It hasn’t been an easy path, but the results have been truly life-changing. Initially, the process brought up a lot of anxiety, but each moment of discomfort became an opportunity for self-discovery. I’ve uncovered hidden beliefs and patterns that were holding me back and gained a deeper understanding of myself. The journey within is challenging, but the growth and peace it brings make every step worthwhile.

If you’re new to shadow work, it might sound daunting, but it is one of the most transformative journeys you can take for your mental and emotional well-being. Here’s how you can get started.
